The throat chakra is a fascinating chakra and has much more meaning to it than being the center of communication. The area encompasses the throat, mouth and ears; as listening is just as important as speaking for communication.
Beyond communication, it is also the center of expression and creativity as well as being the gateway between our inner and outer worlds. It is where we can express how we are feeling and share our desires to those around us. It can also be about truth– speaking the truth to others, ourselves, and how we show up.
When our throat chakra is out of balance you may find that you are having trouble speaking– whether it be in public or telling someone how you feel. Some questions to ask yourself to see if your throat is out of balance are:
- Do you have difficulty telling the truth, especially when it is difficult?
- Can you discern the truth within yourself? Or recognize it from others?
- Are you creatively able to express yourself? (through writing, music, art, or speaking)
- Are you worried about how others will react if you speak up?
- Do you hide parts of yourself from others? Feel like you can’t really show who you are?
This center is in balance when there is a balance between expressing ourselves and listening to others, pushing to have our desires filled and waiting for them to come to us.
To learn more about this chakra and others I have a Chakra Program that delves into each chakra one at a time, clearing old patterns and pain at each level.
